Teach Your Voice

Builds a saved brand-voice profile so Claude writes the way Melinda Maria actually sounds — fun, playful, ‘everyday luxury’ — instead of generic, robotic AI copy.

Cowork & Chat
How to use it
It runs a short interview about how MM communicates, and (optionally) analyzes samples of real MM writing — product copy, emails, captions — to pick up sentence length, openers, signature phrases, and the things we’d never say. It saves a my-writing-voice.md profile, then runs a live test so you can rate how close it sounds and refine it. Once saved, every other content skill (Content Engine, Content Creator, etc.) can draw on it. Best practice: do this first, and set it to always-on in your Preferences.
How to invoke / keep it on
Say “teach Claude our brand voice” or “this doesn’t sound like us.” To keep it always-on, add a line to your Preferences pointing to the saved voice profile so it applies to every writing task.
20 powerful examples for Melinda Maria
Copy, tweak, make them yours. Just describe the task — Claude loads the skill automatically.
01"Build our Melinda Maria brand-voice profile — I’ll paste our best IG captions, three Klaviyo emails, and five product descriptions; analyze the patterns and capture the fun, flirty ‘everyday luxury’ tone plus the phrases we’d never use."
02"Create separate voice modes in one profile: our playful customer-facing voice for IG and TikTok, a polished tone for #wholesale and NuORDER outreach, and a friendly-but-helpful tone for #cs replies in Gorgias."
03"Our Klaviyo drafts keep coming out stiff and corporate — run the voice interview, then test it by rewriting this welcome email until it sounds unmistakably like MM, and tell me what you changed."
04"Set up our brand voice and make it always-on, then prove it: draft a new-arrival IG caption and a launch newsletter intro for the tennis-necklace restock and rate each against the voice profile."
05"Analyze our 20 top-performing IG captions and tell me exactly what makes them sound like us — sentence length, openers, emoji habits, signature phrases — and bake it all into the voice profile."
06"Pull our last ten Gmail wholesale replies and build a ‘professional MM’ voice mode for #wholesale and NuORDER outreach that’s warm and confident without the flirty consumer tone."
07"Build a short ‘words we love / words we ban’ list into the voice profile — the phrases that feel MM and the ones that feel generic-AI — so every draft can be checked against it."
08"Test the voice profile by writing the same product blurb three ways — for IG, for a Klaviyo email, and for a PDP — and show me how the tone shifts while staying recognizably MM."
09"Read five of our actual product descriptions from Shopify, capture how we describe materials and benefits, and add a ‘product copy’ section to the voice profile with do’s and don’ts."
10"Create a #cs voice mode for our Gorgias replies — friendly, helpful, never defensive — then rewrite three sample support responses so the team has on-brand templates."
11"Our TikTok captions feel off-brand lately — analyze what changed against the voice profile and give me a corrected set of five captions plus the specific tweaks that pulled them back on-tone."
12"Set up the voice profile and add it to my Preferences so it’s always-on, then run a blind test: I’ll show you two captions and you tell me which one is actually ours."
13"Build a voice profile from our founder’s own writing for personal LinkedIn and brand-story posts — a warmer, first-person mode — kept separate from the main brand voice."
14"Analyze our best-performing Klaviyo subject lines and preview text, capture the hooks and rhythm that work for us, and add a ‘subject line’ section to the voice profile."
15"Once the voice profile is saved, draft a full Lariat-launch package — IG caption, email intro, and PDP blurb — and score each one against the profile so I can see where it’s strongest."
16"Help me document the difference between our playful everyday tone and our restrained luxury tone, with side-by-side examples, so writers know when to dial up which."
17"Refresh our voice profile with this quarter’s best content — re-analyze recent captions and emails, update the signature phrases, and tell me what’s drifted since we first set it up."
18"Create a voice mode for press and PR — polished, quotable, humble — and rewrite our boilerplate ‘about Melinda Maria’ paragraph so it’s ready for media kits."
19"Test the voice across channels: rewrite a single message about our holiday charm drop for IG, TikTok, email, Pinterest, and a #wholesale note, and rate each against the matching voice mode."
20"Build the voice profile, then turn it into a one-page cheat sheet #marketing can paste into every brief — tone, signature phrases, banned words, and three on-brand example lines."
