What is the Sprout Social connector?

Sprout Social is the platform where Melinda Maria's social media analytics live. The Sprout Social connector lets Claude read those numbers for you across all 10 of our owned profiles — Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and more — so instead of opening Sprout and building a report, you just ask a question and get the answer.

📈 What it knows

Account info, the full list of connected profiles, post-level analytics, profile-level analytics (followers, reach, engagement), tags, and recent messages — across all 10 channels.

🔒 What it can't do

It is read-only — it reports on performance but cannot post, schedule, reply, or change anything in Sprout. Ask freely; nothing you do here touches the live accounts.

🧠 What makes it handy

It compares across channels in one go — Instagram vs. TikTok, this month vs. last — so you get cross-channel answers without stitching together separate reports.

Why it matters: social reporting is a constant ask — especially for the Ambassador Program and Marketing. This connector turns "what's working?" into a single sentence, so the weekly and monthly recaps practically write themselves.

Connect it in about a minute

How to connect in three steps Open Settings then Connectors in Claude, find this connector and click Connect, then sign in once with the account noted below. Settings Profile Connectors Data controls 1 · Open Settings → Connectors MM This connectornot connected Connect 2 · Find it · click Connect you@melindamaria.com •••••••• Sign in ✓ 3 · Sign in once — done
In Claude: Settings → Connectors → find it → click Connect → sign in. It’s already added for the team, so this is a one-time, ~1-minute step (see “Which login” below).

The Sprout Social connector is already set up in Claude for the team — you just switch it on and sign in. Takes about 30 seconds.

1
In Claude, open SettingsConnectors (or click the + in the message box → Connectors). Find Sprout Social in the list — it's already there.
2
Click the + (or Connect) next to Sprout Social.
3
When prompted, sign in with your Google work account (your @melindamaria.com email — the same one you use for Gmail & Drive). A personal Gmail won't work.
4
Approve the connection. It shows Connected — then type "Using Sprout Social, list our profiles" — you should see the 10 profiles.
🔑 Which login? You only ever sign in with your Melinda Maria Google work account. You never enter any Sprout Social password or key — those are stored securely on our side.
Don't see it in your Connectors list? Ask David — it gets enabled once for the team, then appears for everyone to switch on.

How to ask — just say "use Sprout Social…"

The connector is named Sprout Social. The simplest way to make sure Claude uses it is to mention it in your request:

"Using Sprout Social, <your question>."

You don't have to memorize tool names — plain English works. A few tips that get great results:

Name the channel(s)

"…on Instagram", "…TikTok vs. Instagram", "…across all profiles". You can compare channels in one ask.

Be specific about the window

"…last week", "…in Q2", "…last 30 days", "…month over month". Time frames sharpen every report.

Say what "good" means

"…by engagement", "…by reach", "…by follower growth", "…top 10". Tell Claude the metric you care about.

Ask for the format you want

"…as a table", "…make a PDF", "…a short recap I can paste into Slack". Claude will shape it.

Heads up on actions: the Sprout connector itself only reads. But when you ask Claude to draft a recap email, post to Slack, or build a PDF using our other tools, it drafts it and asks you to confirm before anything goes out. Nothing is sent without your OK.

Something looks wrong?

If a number seems off, a channel is missing, or the connector says it can't reach Sprout — tell David. Include what you asked and what you got back (a screenshot helps).

Want a new capability or report?

Need a recurring recap, a new comparison, or a metric this doesn't surface yet? Send the idea to David. The connector is built to grow.

Quick test you can always run: sprout_get_account_info — it should return the Melinda Maria account. If it errors, that's the thing to send David.

What is a live artifact and how to share it

Short version: a live artifact is a page Claude builds once and then refreshes every single time you open it — so a dashboard you ask for today is still accurate next month. Here is what one is, and the three ways to get it in front of your team.

📊 NEW — build live artifacts, dashboards & spreadsheets with this connector

A live artifact is a small interactive page Claude builds and saves for you — a dashboard, tracker, or report that pulls fresh data from this connector every time you open it, instead of being a frozen snapshot. In a Cowork session, just ask: “create a live artifact that…” — it lands in your Artifacts list, reusable forever, and its charts and tables refresh themselves on open.

Sharing with the team: artifacts are saved to your Claude account. Three easy ways to share: (1) ask Claude to export a snapshot (PDF, image, or .xlsx) and drop it in Slack; (2) send a teammate the prompt that built it — their copy fills with live data through their own connector sign-in; (3) for a permanent all-team dashboard, that’s the MM Intelligence project on the AI roadmap.

How it works — architecture

Sprout Social is a straight-through "live" connector — there's no stored copy, every question reads Sprout's numbers in the moment. You don't need any of this to use it, but here's the build:

Sprout Social MCP Connector — Architecture Sprout Social connector architecture: a custom Canto-style Google-gated Cloudflare Worker that calls the Sprout Social API with a server-side API token (the hosted-connector OAuth route was blocked on Sprout's side). 6 read-only tools across 10 owned profiles. Self-hosted on Melinda Maria’s own Cloudflare account at sprout-mcp.melindamaria.ai/mcp — the same hosting + Google sign-in pattern as our other connectors. All traffic over HTTPS/TLS.

Why live, not synced?

Social metrics move all day. A stored copy would lag, so Sprout reads live every time — engagement, reach, and message counts are current to the moment you ask.

Why a custom build?

Sprout blocked the off-the-shelf hosted-connector sign-in, so we built our own Worker that authenticates with a Sprout API token instead. Same Google sign-in for the team out front; a server-side token to Sprout in back.

Read-only & hosted like our others

It only reads — it can't post or change anything in Sprout. It runs on our own Cloudflare account behind the same Google sign-in as every MM connector, with the Sprout token kept server-side, never in Claude.

How your data flows (the 30-second version)

You don't need to understand the plumbing to use it — but here's the simple picture:

When you ask about performance

e.g. "how did our Instagram posts do last week?" → Claude calls Sprout's analytics and gives you the numbers across the profiles you asked about.

When you compare or rank

e.g. "top 10 posts by engagement this quarter" → Claude pulls the data, does the sorting and math, and hands you a clean answer or table.

Everything happens behind a secure sign-in. The connector only works for people signing in with a @melindamaria.com or @7ate9.com Google account. The Sprout API key stays server-side and is never visible to you or to Claude.
