Downloads YouTube content — a single video, a whole playlist, or a channel — as audio (MP3/M4A/WAV/FLAC) or video (MP4, any resolution), plus subtitles and thumbnails. Good for pulling reference clips, product-review videos, or repurposing content we have the rights to.

How to use it

It uses yt-dlp (a free downloader) plus ffmpeg (which converts/merges audio and video), with reliable defaults. Claude Code only, and only on your own Mac — YouTube blocks cloud sandboxes with bot checks. Use it for content you’re allowed to download (your own uploads, Creative Commons, public domain); it won’t help pirate copyrighted material.

How to invoke / keep it on

Paste a YouTube link in Claude Code and say what you want (audio? video? whole playlist?) and it loads; it defaults to MP3 audio if you just say “download.”
