ElevenLabs Connector — Team Guide

READ + WRITE · generates audio

Turn written copy into natural-sounding voiceover right inside Claude — for reels, ads, and clips. One thing to know up front: this connector spends paid credits, so use it with intent.

Cost & usage — please read this first

Unlike our other connectors (which just read data), ElevenLabs creates something and spends money to do it. A few things to keep in mind before you generate:

💳 It bills per character

Voiceover is charged by the number of characters in your script. Short clips are cheap; long scripts cost more. Trim the text to what you actually need spoken.

👥 It's a shared account

The whole team draws on one shared Melinda Maria Creator-plan account with a limited monthly character budget. There's no per-person meter — so use it thoughtfully and don't regenerate on a whim.

🎧 You get a download link

Claude can't play audio inline, so each generation returns a clickable MP3 download link that's good for 24 hours. Download it and save it where your team keeps assets.

Use thoughtfully: finalize your script first, then generate once. If you need a tweak, change the words or the voice and regenerate intentionally — every generation draws from the shared monthly budget. If credits run low, that's a David heads-up.

What is the ElevenLabs connector?

ElevenLabs is an AI text-to-speech service — it turns written words into natural, human-sounding speech. The ElevenLabs connector brings that into Claude so anyone at MM can create a voiceover from a script without touching any software or keys. Paste your copy, pick a vibe, and get an audio file back.

🎙️ What it does (v1)

Voiceover — text to speech. Give it a script and it produces a polished spoken-audio MP3 you can download and drop into a reel, ad, or clip.

🗣️ Voices & tone

You can ask for different voices and tones — warm, upbeat, calm, energetic — to match the piece. Claude passes your direction through to the voice engine.

🔭 What's coming later

The underlying service can also do voice-cloning and transcription. Those aren't part of v1 — for now this is focused on getting great voiceover into your hands.

Why it matters: social and content move fast. Instead of booking a voice or wrestling with audio tools, you can get an on-brand voiceover for a reel in seconds — then refine the script and regenerate if it needs a tweak.

Connect it in about a minute

How to connect in three steps Open Settings then Connectors in Claude, find this connector and click Connect, then sign in once with the account noted below. Settings Profile Connectors Data controls 1 · Open Settings → Connectors MM This connectornot connected Connect 2 · Find it · click Connect you@melindamaria.com •••••••• Sign in ✓ 3 · Sign in once — done
In Claude: Settings → Connectors → find it → click Connect → sign in. It’s already added for the team, so this is a one-time, ~1-minute step (see “Which login” below).

The ElevenLabs connector is already set up in Claude for the team — you just switch it on and sign in. Takes about 30 seconds.

1
In Claude, open SettingsConnectors (or click the + in the message box → Connectors). Find ElevenLabs in the list — it's already there.
2
Click the + (or Connect) next to ElevenLabs.
3
When prompted, sign in with your Google work account (your @melindamaria.com email — the same one you use for Gmail & Drive). A personal Gmail won't work.
4
Approve the connection. It shows Connected — then try "Using ElevenLabs, make a short test voiceover" — you should get a download link.
🔑 Which login? You only ever sign in with your Melinda Maria Google work account. You never enter any ElevenLabs password or key — those are stored securely on our side.
Don't see it in your Connectors list? Ask David — it gets enabled once for the team, then appears for everyone to switch on.

How to ask — say "make a voiceover…"

The connector is named ElevenLabs. Frame your ask as creating something, and give it the script:

"Using ElevenLabs, make a voiceover from this script: <your copy>."

A few tips that get great results — and keep credit use in check:

Finalize the script first

Tighten the wording before you generate. Fewer characters = lower cost and a cleaner read. Generate once you're happy.

Direct the voice & tone

"…warm and friendly", "…upbeat and energetic", "…a calm female voice". Describe the vibe and Claude will steer it.

Mind the length

For social, a 10–20 second read is usually plenty. Long scripts cost more and may need to be split — keep it tight.

Save the file promptly

The download link expires in 24 hours. Grab the MP3 and store it with your other assets right after it's made.

Example prompts — creating voiceover

These are all "create" prompts (each one spends some credits). Tweak the script and the voice to taste. The label shows roughly how much you're generating; the line under each shows which connectors get involved.

Limitations, caveats & risk (please read)

TopicWhat to knowStatus
Spends paid creditsEvery voiceover costs money, billed per character against MM's shared Creator-plan account, which has a limited monthly character budget. Generate intentionally; don't regenerate casually.Costs money
Shared account, no per-person meterEveryone draws on the same pool of credits, and there's no per-person tracking. Be considerate — heavy use affects everyone's budget. If it's running low, tell David.Shared
Download link expiresClaude can't play audio in the chat; it returns an MP3 download link valid for 24 hours. Save the file promptly to your team's asset storage.24h link
Broad key for nowThe connector currently uses a broad ElevenLabs key. A tighter, voiceover-scoped key with a hard credit cap is a planned follow-up before wider rollout — until then, the "use thoughtfully" guidance matters more.Improving
Voiceover-focused (v1)v1 is text-to-speech only. Voice-cloning and transcription are technically possible on the underlying service but are not turned on yet.By design
Long scriptsVery long scripts may hit a per-request length ceiling and need to be split. For social, keep reads short — it's cheaper and sounds better anyway.Keep it short

Something looks wrong (or credits are low)?

If a generation fails, a link won't download, or you see signs the monthly credit budget is running low — tell David. Include what you asked and what you got back (a screenshot helps).

Want more capability?

Want a capped voiceover-only key, longer-form narration, or voice-cloning/transcription turned on down the road? Send the idea to David. These are on the roadmap and can be prioritized.

Best test: generate a tiny script (like "Hello from Melinda Maria!") so you spend next to nothing while confirming it works. If that fails, that's the thing to send David.

What is a live artifact and how to share it

Short version: a live artifact is a page Claude builds once and then refreshes every single time you open it — so a dashboard you ask for today is still accurate next month. Here is what one is, and the three ways to get it in front of your team.

📊 NEW — build live artifacts, dashboards & spreadsheets with this connector

A live artifact is a small interactive page Claude builds and saves for you — a dashboard, tracker, or report that pulls fresh data from this connector every time you open it, instead of being a frozen snapshot. In a Cowork session, just ask: “create a live artifact that…” — it lands in your Artifacts list, reusable forever, and its charts and tables refresh themselves on open.

Sharing with the team: artifacts are saved to your Claude account. Three easy ways to share: (1) ask Claude to export a snapshot (PDF, image, or .xlsx) and drop it in Slack; (2) send a teammate the prompt that built it — their copy fills with live data through their own connector sign-in; (3) for a permanent all-team dashboard, that’s the MM Intelligence project on the AI roadmap.

How it works — architecture

Reminder: this connector spends paid ElevenLabs credits on every voiceover (shared MM Creator-plan key, limited monthly characters). The architecture below is built around that — and around the fact that Claude can't play audio in the chat.

ElevenLabs is different from our other connectors in two ways: it does something (makes audio) rather than reading data, and it runs the official ElevenLabs server inside a container, wrapped by our usual access gate. Here's the build:

ElevenLabs MCP Connector — Architecture ElevenLabs voiceover connector architecture: the official ElevenLabs MCP server runs as a Python container on Cloudflare Containers behind a Google-gated access Worker. The Worker stores the generated MP3 in KV and returns a clickable download link. It spends paid credits from a shared MM key held in the container. Credit-spending — use thoughtfully

Unlike our read-only connectors, every voiceover costs real ElevenLabs credits from a shared, limited monthly pool on the MM Creator plan. It's safe, but it isn't free — generate what you need, not endless test takes.

Why a container?

Rather than rebuild ElevenLabs' tooling, we run their official MCP server unchanged inside a Python container, then wrap it with our standard Google sign-in gate. You get the full official capability with MM's security around it.

Why a download link?

Claude can't play audio inside the chat, so the Worker saves each MP3 for 24 hours and hands you a link to grab it. Save the file when you get it — the link expires after a day.

How it works (the 30-second version)

You don't need to understand the plumbing to use it — but here's the simple picture:

You give Claude a script

e.g. "make a warm 15-second voiceover from this caption." Claude sends the words to ElevenLabs, which charges credits by character length.

You get an audio file

ElevenLabs returns an MP3; Claude hands you a download link good for 24 hours. Grab it and save it — Claude can't play it back inside the chat.

Everything happens behind a secure sign-in. The connector only works for people signing in with a @melindamaria.com or @7ate9.com Google account. The ElevenLabs key stays server-side and is never visible to you or to Claude.
